Attention Participants: New Dock Location!!!
Due to city construction on the docks, the boat location is changing to Berth #2 in Alamitos Bay (215 North Marine Drive, Long Beach 90803). Below you will find a map with directions to the new dock. We still need all of our campers to arrive at 7am. PLEASE arrive promptly! We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

The PADRE Foundation Island Adventure Camp is a weekend getaway of team-building challenges, diabetes education, and a variety of opportunities for personal growth for kids 11-15 years of age AND their friends. Long Beach Marine Institute and their staff will host nature and astronomy hikes, snorkeling, kayaking, tide pool studies, and squid dissections.
Each participant will be assigned to a sleeping cabin that will have two chaperones/cabin counselors along with 7-10 campers in each cabin. Our counselors are highly trained in diabetes management with most of them living with Type 1 diabetes themselves.
Medical staff will be on-site and monitoring all the campers diabetes control throughout the weekend.
